Why this matters to a FIDIC contractor

  • Civil works on MDB projects are procured under FIDIC-based bidding documents — usually the Pink Book or adapted Red and Yellow Books.
  • A General Procurement Notice appears well before the Invitation for Bids: that is the window to prepare, form a consortium and check the qualification requirements.
  • Awarded contracts reveal real scale and the usual bidders — useful for judging competition before you commit.
  • The clarification stage is the only point at which the conditions can still be influenced. After that, risk can only be priced in.
